Job Description

This role involves investigating and analyzing complex, multi-discipline coverage and claims referred to the special investigation unit (SIU) for potential fraud. The responsibilities include handling a mix of attorney-represented and unrepresented claims and moderate to complex losses, conducting thorough investigations such as background searches, scene investigations, taking recorded statements, reviewing medical and property damage documentation, witness interviews, and social media searches. The investigator may conduct surveillance and scene reconstructions to substantiate fraud and support legal actions. The role also involves mentoring less experienced team members.

Location

This is a field-based position in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. Candidates must be located in the Tampa Bay, FL county area and bilingual in Spanish.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review investigations with fraud outcomes to validate denials.
2. Conduct site inspections at body shops, medical clinics, and loss locations.
3. Perform online data searches and research.
4. Verify the accuracy of investigation information and follow up on leads.
5. Enter claim data into SIU systems.
6. Update investigation files and coordinate with the MCO for further handling if no fraud is found.
7. Conduct complex investigations, including scene investigations and surveillance.
8. Use analytic tools to identify claims for investigation and support evidence of fraud.
9. Document findings and decisions in the claim system.
10. Respond to complex customer inquiries and issues.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (4-year).
• Preferred: 2 or more years of experience in insurance investigations.
• This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

Base salary ranges from $56,500 to $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include incentive pay such as bonuses or commissions.
