Job Description

This role involves investigating and analyzing complex, multi-discipline coverage and claims referred to the special investigation unit (SIU) for potential fraud. The position handles a mix of attorney-represented and unrepresented claims, including moderate to complex losses with suspicious activity. Responsibilities include conducting background searches, scene investigations, clinic inspections, taking recorded statements, reviewing medical notes, bills, property damage, conducting witness interviews, social media searches, and surveillance. The investigator also provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Location and Requirements

This is a field-based role in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. The ideal candidate must be located in Tampa Bay, FL, and bilingual in Spanish.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review investigations with fraud outcomes to validate denial appropriateness.
2. Conduct complex site inspections and online data searches.
3. Validate information obtained through investigations.
4. Enter and update SIU claim data in multiple systems.
5. Document investigation outcomes and communicate findings.
6. Conduct scene investigations and surveillance as needed.
7. Utilize analytic tools to identify complex claims for investigation.
8. Summarize documents and document decision-making processes.
9. Respond to complex customer communications and concerns.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience: 2+ years in insurance investigations (preferred)

Compensation

Base salary ranges from $56,500 to $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include incentives such as bonuses or commissions.
