Job summary

Community Memorial Health System in Ventura is seeking a Sitter, Nurse Tech or Sitter, CNA to provide safe, compassionate patient observation and assistance in a hospital setting. The role supports nurses and medical staff with constant monitoring and timely care under supervision.

The position requires a California CNA certification (or candidate for Nurse Tech) and a current BLS. CNAs may be placed accordingly based on qualifications and state requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• One year of experience as Nurse Tech or CNA in acute care or SNF.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant observation of patients to ensure safety.
• Provide patient care within scope of practice and promptly meet needs.
• Redirect patients as needed and appropriate.
• Report changes in condition to the primary care nurse.
• Remain with ambulatory patients using a gait belt when applicable.
• Monitor safety when patients are in the bathroom or unsupervised.
• Maintain a neat, calm environment to promote comfort.
• Deter access to potentially harmful items and document activities timely.
