Job summary

James G. Davis Construction (DAVIS) is seeking a Sitework Estimator to assist the Estimating and Preconstruction teams with developing proposal responses, GMP proposals, and preconstruction services focused on Sitework.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2–6 years in estimating or construction for commercial projects, with strong sitework bid and quantity takeoff capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction management, architecture or related field.
• 2–6 years’ experience in estimating or construction for commercial construction.
• Experience bidding and budgeting the sitework trades.
• Experience with quantity takeoff software.
• Familiarity with the design process and related design disciplines.
• Plan reading experience.
• Specialized application experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports estimate / bid / GMP assembly for the trade specialization.
• Performs scope writing and qualification development; proficient in Division 2 trades.
• Solicits and reviews bids from trade partners and material suppliers; analyzes bid submissions for gaps and exclusions.
• Performs basic quantity takeoffs; performs basic earthwork quantity takeoffs.
• Reviews documents for quality control; supports constructability reviews.
• Assists in developing systems analyses and Value Engineering/Alternates logs.
