YMCA OF GREATE MONMOUTH COUNTY is seeking a dedicated individual for a Full-Time/Part-Time position in Freehold, NJ. Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.50 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and supervises the school-age curriculum with age- and developmentally- appropriate activities.
• Supervises and directs the staff and assists in their training as well as monitors their implementation of the curriculum.
• Develops the weekly schedule, takes attendance daily and keeps track of student absences.
• Observes and assesses the individual needs of the children.
• Is responsible for replenishing/refurbishing equipment, crafts and first aid supplies at the site. Reports to the School Age Director when supplies need reordering.
• Assures that all activities are in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the YMCA, as well as teaching the YMCA core values.
• Addresses appropriate parental and behavioral concerns with the School-Age Director.
• Assists in promotions of programs, vacation camps, and special events.
• Attends scheduled events to help promote the YMCA, such as Back to School Night and annual Healthy Kids Day.
• Serves as a liaison to the school personnel, specifically the principal and his/her designee.
• Handles student-related problems, including behavior problems, recording all incidents.
• Attends monthly Y-KIDS staff meetings, training programs, necessary PTA meetings, Kindergarten orientations, etc. throughout the year.
• Knows and ensures that state regulations are maintained at the site.
• Is responsible for the allowed budget at the site, handing in receipts within the month.
• Creates a monthly calendar of events with lesson plans, which should be posted with all necessary licensing materials. Any monthly newsletters or notices must be handed in to the Y-Kids Regional Coordinator and School Age Director for approval before distribution each month.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• BA or BS in Education or a related field, and/or at least 3 years of experience in supervision and working with school-aged children.
• Must be mature, responsible, and organized.
• Must have experience in scheduling daily age-appropriate activities and special events.
• CPR, 1st Aid, Epi-pen, & AED certified, or acquire within 3 months of hire date.
