Position Summary

The Site Supervisor - Commercial Construction is responsible for the overall management and oversight of on-site construction operations for assigned commercial projects. This role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with contract documents and company standards. The Site Supervisor provides daily leadership to field personnel, coordinates subcontractor activities, enforces safety and quality standards, and serves as the primary on-site representative of Chinburg.

This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Responsibilities

• Site Leadership & Oversight: Direct and oversee all day-to-day field operations; plan, coordinate, and sequence work to maintain project schedule and productivity; supervise on-site laborers and field staff; coordinate subcontractor activities; lead regular site meetings and communicate project updates to Project Managers and stakeholders.
• Safety & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain a site-specific safety plan; enforce safety protocols for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors; conduct regular safety inspections; ensure compliance documentation is current and properly maintained.
• Quality Control & Execution: Review plans and technical documents; conduct routine inspections; identify and resolve field issues; develop and manage punch list processes through project closeout.
• Project Coordination & Administration: Monitor project milestones; coordinate inspections with regulatory agencies and third-party inspectors; oversee delivery, storage, and inventory control of materials and equipment; maintain accurate daily logs and project documentation.
• Site Management: Ensure site cleanliness, organization, and professionalism; promote a respectful, collaborative, and productive work environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated experience supervising commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Effective leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency with construction management software and mobile reporting tools preferred.
• OSHA certification (required or preferred based on regional standards).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive commercial construction experience, including field supervision responsibilities.

• Demonstrates professionalism, cooperation, and respect in all interactions.
• Complies with all company policies and acknowledges understanding of Chinburg Code of Safety Practices.
• Completes required training programs as assigned.

Work Environment

This position is primarily field-based and regularly exposed to outdoor elements, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Extended hours, weekend work, and limited travel may be required based on project demands.
