Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA in Ventura, CA is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee childcare programs including Before-School, After-School, Summer Camp, and School Break Care, ensuring compliance with California licensing and Expanded Learning Opportunities guidelines.

The role requires at least 2 years of childcare experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to supervise staff and up to 28 children; a valid CA driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience working in a childcare setting.
• Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Maintain a valid California driver’s license, active participation in the DMV Pull Program, and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs (Before-School, After-School, Summer Camp, and School Break Care).
• Supervise up to 14 children independently; up to 20 with DOE ELOP guidelines; up to 28 with staff.
• Provide quality care and supervision to children (visual, proactive, interactive).
• Ensure a safe environment for all children to thrive.
• Guide behaviors using positive methods and ensure HEPA standards are met.
• Assist in the planning and administration of the program and staff development.
