Landscaping SITE SUPERVISOR

Location: Washington, DC

Work Hours: 7am - 3:30pm, M-F

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements include successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Introduction

The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of grounds workers and foremen, overseeing general grounds maintenance, landscaping, and outside facility duties. May supervise up to nine employees.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and supervise a crew of ground workers and foremen in landscaping and grounds maintenance activities.
2. Maintain lawns, shrubbery, trees, walkways, parking areas, and fences.
3. Prepare schedules for various grounds care activities including fertilizing, seeding, herbicide application, and pruning.
4. Monitor and report signs of abnormal development in plants and recommend improvements.
5. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of timesheets and administrative paperwork.
6. Follow safety rules and procedures, act as first responder in emergencies, and ensure proper documentation of incidents.
7. Maintain records of security, supplies, equipment, and vehicle use.
8. Attend industry meetings and training to stay current with landscaping practices.
9. Assist with snow removal operations.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision

• Supervises Grounds Foreman (if applicable)
• Reports to the Landscape Operations Manager

Physical Qualifications

Must be able to stand/walk 95% of the time, lift/carry 60 pounds, push/pull 100 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, and reaching. Work is mainly outdoors under various weather conditions. Good vision and hearing are required for safety and operational tasks.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, with at least 8 years of grounds work experience. Certified Pesticide Applicator (TCEQ) required. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Ability to pass security clearance. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime. Experience with adults with differing abilities is a plus.
