Job summary

Spencer Ogden in Kankakee, IL is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Superintendent to lead field coordination and execution on a major construction project. The Site Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, subcontractors, trade partners, and project stakeholders throughout the construction

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of large-scale construction experience.
  • Strong mechanical construction / mechanical systems experience.
  • Proven experience supervising subcontractors and trade partners in the field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day mechanical construction activities and field coordination.
  • Supervise mechanical subcontractors, trade workers, and suppliers.
  • Monitor field progress and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate mechanical installation activities with other project disciplines.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, RFIs, change documents, and construction plans.
  • Conduct field observations and inspections to ensure installation quality.
  • Coordinate subcontractor manpower, material deliveries, and scheduled work activities.
  • Participate in project, owner, and subcontractor meetings.
  • Maintain daily construction reports and communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to the project team.
  • Support Project and Construction Managers with schedule updates, cost tracking, and overall project execution

Job description

We are currently supporting a major construction project in Kankakee, IL seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Superintendent to lead field coordination and execution. This is a hands-on role for a construction professional with strong mechanical experience who can effectively manage subcontractors, coordinate field activities, and keep safety, quality, and schedule objectives on track.

The Site Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, subcontractors, trade partners, and project stakeholders throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience working on complex, large-scale industrial construction projects
