Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking a Site Safety Specialist to lead onsite safety efforts for the customer site and administer Prime Controls' ES&H Programs as contracted. The role involves promoting a safety culture, mentoring employees, and managing permits, audits, trainings, and incident investigations.

Requirements include OSHA-30 within three years and a current CHST/OHST/CSP/ASP designation, 1–3 years in industrial safety, and the ability to pass a seven-year background check.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial safety, especially around facility infrastructure construction.
• OSHA 30 completed within the last three years; OSHA 500/502 valid certificate or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in safety at industrial sites or construction.
• Able to pass a seven-year background check and work with a large subcontractor force.

• Generate, observe, inspect, and close permits, audits, toolbox talks, and safety observations.

• Attend safety meetings and convey information to project teams and corporate.
• Complete other projects as assigned.
• Walk the site (up to 20,000 steps a day).

Overview

As a Site Safety Specialist you will be primarily responsible for onsite safety efforts for the Prime Control’s customer site, as well as administration and execution of Prime Controls' ES&H Programs as contracted by scope.

What You Will Do

• Promote Prime Controls' award-winning “Safety Culture” and "Standards"
• Observe safe work practices and present opportunities for improvement. Mentor employees and encourage their safe work practices, following Stop Work Authority
• Generate, observe, inspect, and close job permits, audits, toolboxes, work safe observations, orientations
• Perform health and safety program auditing
• Assist in incident investigations and emergency response
• Attend safety meetings and convey information to the project team and corporate
• Complete other projects as assigned
• Walk the site (up to 20,000 steps a day)

What You Will Bring

The Basic

• Pass Prime Controls' interview as well as an interview with the GC over 1926 standards, such as scaffolding, lockout/tag out, electrical, and confined space.
• Daily PTP sign off.
• Safety audits.
• Conduct safety training.
• AnOSHA 30 completed within the last three years and anOSHA 500/ 502valid certificate of completion.
• Or:CHST, OHST, STS, CSP, ASP designation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
• 1-3years of experience in industrial, electrical, and safety around facility critical infrastructure construction
• Able to pass a seven-year background check.
• Experience working with a large subcontractor force.
• Exhibit integrity, flexibility, initiative, and adherence to company policies and programs always.
• Clear and concise communication, both written and oral.
• Ability to effectively work with all levels or divisions on-site, in meetings, and within Prime Controls.
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and emails.
