MasTec is seeking a Site Safety Specialist for our Jasper, IN project. You will coordinate safety training, enforce OSHA standards, perform field safety walks, and lead safety initiatives with crews.
The role requires 1–2 years of safety experience, a high school diploma or GED, and working toward STS-C or BCSP certifications. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

One to two years' of safety-related experience
Previous construction experience preferred
Working towards obtaining STS-C or other BCSP certifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must have knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills, and written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Ability to perform safety inspections ensuring compliance with the company and OSHA standards

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
