Job summary

NESC Staffing seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for Des Plaines, IL, with travel to multiple on-site project locations. You will oversee safety, health, and quality control to ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and contract requirements.

The role requires 5–10 years of construction safety and quality control experience, a related degree, and certifications such as OSHA 30, EM 385-1-1, HAZWOPER, NAVFAC eCATTs, CQM. Willingness to travel is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, occupational safety, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of construction safety, quality control, or related management experience.
• Experience with federal, military, or local public agency projects preferred.
• Proficient in construction management and documentation software, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and update APPs and QC plans.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and contract requirements.
• Lead safety meetings, inspections, and audits, and maintain records.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for safety documentation and certifications.
• Prepare daily quality control and safety reports and meetings.
