Job summary

B2 Constructors, Indianapolis, IN, seeks a hands-on Site Safety and Health Officer to lead safety on federal and commercial construction projects. You will implement safety plans, enforce OSHA and EM 385-1-1, and coordinate with field leaders to identify and correct hazards.

Key duties include daily site inspections, toolbox talks, training sessions, and detailed safety reporting. Required: 5+ years of field safety and EM 385 familiarity; OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of commercial/industrial construction safety management.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety cert; First Aid/CPR.
• Experience with USACE EM 385 safety requirements; training in high-hazard trades; trench safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite inspections, identify hazards, enforce PPE and safety requirements, and monitor subcontractor compliance.
• Implement and maintain Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Site Safety and Health Plans, Emergency Action Plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, training sessions, and emergency preparedness drills.
• Prepare detailed daily safety reports; investigate and document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Quality Control Manager to integrate safety into construction operations.
• Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and federal, state, local, and project-specific standards.

Site Safety and Health Officer | B2 Constructors | Indianapolis, IN

Position Summary:

B2 Constructors is a service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVOSB), multi-state licensed general and mechanical contractor. We are seeking a hands-on Site Safety and Health Officer to lead jobsite safety on federal and commercial construction projects. The SSHO will implement safety plans, enforce OSHA and USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements, coordinate with field leadership, and proactively identify and correct hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite inspections, identify hazards, enforce PPE and safety requirements, and monitor subcontractor compliance.
• Implement and maintain Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Site Safety and Health Plans, Emergency Action Plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of commercial or industrial construction project management experience, with strong field safety knowledge.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification earned at least 5 years ago, as specified in the posting; First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience applying USACE EM 385 safety requirements, conducting inspections, and managing construction hazards.
• Specialized training in high-hazard trades (such as electrical, cranes/derricks, or roofing) and trench safety certification.
• Strong reporting, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 500 or 510; CHST or CSP; recent OSHA 30 refresher/recertification; federal project experience (VA or USACE); private-sector construction experience; familiarity with Procore, environmental safety, and industrial hygiene.
