Job summary

ANE Consulting seeks a Safety Manager to lead safety and security for a multi-station MTA State of Good Repair project in Brooklyn. You will serve as Key Personnel, overseeing safety across design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and testing phases on ten NYC Transit stations.

The ideal candidate has transit/rail DB project background, current NYCT Track Safety Training, OSHA 30, DOB Site Safety Manager certification, and NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector license, plus a Bachelor's degree and

• Proven safety leadership on transit/rail projects (Design-Build or similar).
• Current NYCT Track Safety Training for the duration of the project.
• Minimum 1 year NYCT ROW experience, including flagging or diversions of service.
• Completed the 40-hour NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course.
• OSHA 30 Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926).
• OSHA 500/510 preferred but not required.
• Current NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector's License.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Key Personnel Safety Manager for the project.
• Manage safety and security across all project phases.
• Provide safety oversight during design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and testing.
• Support safe-site activities across the 10-station MTA project in Brooklyn.
• Oversee safety for repairs/replacements of tactile tiles, floor/wall coverings, and platform components.
• Coordinate safety for leak mitigation, painting, MEP relocations, and signal equipment maintenance.
• Provide safety oversight for track and signal replacement activities.
• Maintain independence from the physical construction effort.
• Support a minimum 40-hour workweek with additional hours as required.

ANE Consulting is a leading construction management services firm known for its excellence in delivering complex, high-visibility projects. For this assignment, the Safety Manager will support an MTA 10-station Design-Build State of Good Repair project along the BMT-West End Line in Brooklyn.

About the Role

As Safety Manager, you will serve as designated Key Personnel responsible for managing safety and security matters throughout all phases of this MTA State of Good Repair project, from Notice to Proceed through Final Completion.

The role encompasses design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and testing activities across ten New York City Transit stations in Brooklyn. Project work includes component repairs and replacement, track replacement, signal work, architectural improvements, leak mitigation, painting, MEP relocations, and maintenance and protection of signal equipment.

The Safety Manager will operate independently of the physical production-driven construction effort and will maintain responsibility for project safety and security throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Key Personnel Safety Manager for the project.
• Manage all safety and security matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide safety oversight across design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and testing activities.
• Support safe-site activities across the 10-station MTA State of Good Repair Design-Build project in Brooklyn.
• Provide safety oversight for repairs and/or replacement of damaged or missing tactile warning tiles, floor and wall tiles, architectural coverings, and platform rubbing boards.
• Support safety activities related to localized leak mitigation, painting, MEP relocations, and maintenance and protection of signal equipment.
• Provide safety oversight for track and signal replacement activities.
• Maintain independence from the physical production-driven construction effort.
• Support a minimum 40-hour workweek, with additional hours paid as required.

Requirements

• Demonstrated safety experience.
• Experience serving as the head of safety on at least one transit, commuter rail, or Design-Build project.
• Current NYCT Track Safety Training for the duration of the project.
• Minimum one year of prior NYCT Right of Way (ROW) experience, including flagging and diversions of service.
• Successful completion of the 40-hour NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course.
• Current OSHA 30 Construction Safety & Health certification (29 CFR 1926).
• OSHA 500/510 preferred, but not required.
• Current New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) Asbestos Inspector's License.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
