Primary Function

Plan, implement, and supervise Project Safety Program.

Typical Duties

  1. Ensure Customer Site Safety Performance Expectations are met.
  2. Conduct Supervisory Safety Meetings and Training.
  3. Conduct Employee Safety Orientations.
  4. Provide guidance to Supervisors for conducting safety training of their personnel.
  5. Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas.
  6. Identify hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; ensure corrective action is taken.
  7. Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents.
  8. Prepare and maintain safety documentation as required by the Company, Customer, or applicable Law.
  9. Implement Hazard Communication Program and oversee industrial hygiene activities.
  10. Issue various work permits (e.g., confined space) as required.
  11. Serve as the primary contact for all regulatory inspections or visits.
  12. Ensure medical preparedness, assistance, and supplies are readily available.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned by VP - Safety and Area Safety Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, and Leadership Qualities

Educational and experience requirements include: BS Degree in Safety Engineering or related discipline with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in an equivalent position. Must have initiative and a mindset that is customer and quality focused. Ability to recognize hazards, drive continuous improvement, and take immediate corrective action. Strong organizational, communication (written and oral), and negotiation/influence skills. Team-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities. Proficient in Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledgeable of Construction Safety Compliance.
