Ameresco is looking for a Site Safety Manager to join our new project; the GSA NDER Region 5 project in Detroit, MI. In addition, this candidate will be traveling to other sites in the Midwest and help supervise on 20+ additional projects.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned Business Unit projects;
Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards;
Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use;
Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised;
Safety training of all personnel assigned to project;
Conduct project safety inspections with follow-up inspections of any open items;
Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings;
Creation and evaluating activity hazard reviews;
Regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards and conducts accident and incident investigations;
Development and Implementation of Corrective Action Plans;
Work with project supervision to create safety solutions to safety problems;
Foster and maintains a positive safety culture for the project personnel;
Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts;
Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff;
Produce Safety Reports of activities performed;
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management;
Lead Incident/accident Investigations; and
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or similar Field
Minimum of 5 years project safety management experience, ability to effectively communicate safety within a project team
EM385-1-1 40-Hr. Safety Certification
Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
Current First Aid & CPR Certification
Additional Qualifications:
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills.
Must be organized, proactive and have proven experience in OSHA Compliance.
Skillful communicator in both verbal and in written communication.
Excellent writing skills with proper grammar.
Ability to travel frequently
A great listener who can communicate professionally and in an open and positive approach.
