Job summary

Nemean Solutions, LLC in Columbus, OH, seeks a Safety and Health Officer to administer the site safety program for Defense Supply Center Columbus, develop the Job/Site Safety Plan, and review activity hazard analyses to ensure OSHA and EM 385-1-1 compliance.

The role requires coordinating permits for hot work, lockout/tagout, fall protection, and training records, with strong incident investigation and reporting, and the ability to exercise stop-work authority to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Documented experience administering safety and health requirements for facility operations and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, EM 385-1-1, NFPA and related safety standards.
• Ability to develop site-specific safety plans and Activity Hazard Analyses and to evaluate hazards and corrective actions.
• Training and qualifications appropriate to assigned safety duties, including competent-person/qualified-person requirements.
• Ability to prepare clear inspection, training, incident, and corrective-action records and reports.
• Ability to complete required site, security, safety, and annual refresher training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and update the site-specific Job/Site Safety Plan for all major types of work.
• Prepare, review, and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses for various activities.
• Monitor work areas for compliance with safety requirements.
• Identify hazards and report imminent danger to Government representatives.
• Coordinate and verify required permits and controls for high-hazard activities.
• Develop lockout/tagout procedures for Government review and verify in the field.
• Ensure PPE, guards, and safety equipment are available and used.
• Conduct safety inspections, document findings, and track corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents and hazards and ensure requisite notifications and reports.
