Job summary

Big-D Construction seeks a Safety Professional to join our Port Arthur, TX team, partnering with the safety team and site leadership to foster a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have OSHA 30-hour training (OSHA 500 preferred), MSHA 24-hour training, CSP/ASP/CHST or similar certifications, and a proven track record of safety training, inspections, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 1–3 years construction safety experience
• Proven track record of OSHA/MSHA ratings, loss-work records, EMR trainings, etc.

Responsibilities

• Works on a specific jobsite with the safety team and leadership to create a zero-harm culture
• Monitors job site activity for inspections and administrative tasks
• Documents site conditions with photos and written reports
• Develops plans for improvements with project leadership and documents information
• Conducts safety trainings and provides detailed reports to site team and safety director
• Attends supervisor and foreman safety training meetings
• Reviews safety infractions with site management and documents progress electronically
• Responds to safety concerns and assists in investigating incidents and root causes
• Compiles information for job activity hazard analyses and ensures compliance with safety standards
