Job summary

Ameresco, Inc. is seeking a Site Safety Manager for a Salt Lake City project. The role spans a 3-year duration with potential extension, focusing on safety planning, compliance, training, and incident investigation within a construction environment.

The candidate will lead safety program development, audits, and corrective actions, while maintaining OSHA/EPA standards and fostering a proactive safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years construction industry safety experience on similar projects.
• Current EM385 1-1 certification.
• Average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for 5 years with competent person status for multiple areas.
• Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
• NFPA 70E certification for flash training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with Safety Policies and adopted Standards.
• Ensure PPE meets OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use.
• Conduct Safety Audits of project sites to ensure safe work and health is not compromised.
• Provide safety training to all personnel on the project.
• Conduct project safety inspections and follow-up on open items.
• Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in Pre-Construction Meetings.
• Develop and evaluate activity hazard reviews and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with project supervision to implement safety solutions.
• Maintain safety certifications as required by contracts and lead incident investigations.
• Produce quarterly safety meetings and safety reports.
