Job summary

Ameresco, Inc. is seeking a Site Safety Manager for a Salt Lake City Veterans Administration project. The role spans 3 years with potential extension, focusing on safety planning, audits, training, and regulatory compliance to protect workers and ensure project success.

The candidate will lead incident investigations, maintain certifications, and foster a strong safety culture while coordinating with project teams and subcontractors. Extensive OSHA/EM385 competency is essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Safety-related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years construction safety experience on similar projects.
• EM385 1-1 certification and OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety.
• Average 24 hours formal safety training annually for 5 years with competency in Excavation, Scaffolding, Fall protection, Hazardous energy, Confined space, Health hazard recognition.
• NFPA 70E certification and first aid/CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses for assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with Safety Policies and Standards.
• Ensure PPE meets OSHA/EPA requirements and staff are trained.
• Conduct Safety Audits and project safety inspections with follow-up.
• Provide safety training to project personnel and lead incident investigations.
• Develop corrective action plans and safety solutions with project supervision.
• Maintain safety certifications and produce quarterly safety reports.
