Job Description

The Site Safety role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the general public.
  • Enforce corporate and project-specific safety and health programs, as well as federal, state, and local safety standards.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of project-specific safety programs.
  • Identify known or potential exposures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Report on project-specific safety performance and future plans.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement overall project-specific safety programs.
  • Work closely with field supervision to plan complex safety aspects of construction, including critical lifts and hazardous material handling.
  • Develop project-specific safety training for jobsite personnel, including subcontractors.
  • Coordinate third-party safety reviews, including OSHA.
  • Investigate all accidents and incidents, and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Provide job foremen with appropriate training materials for weekly "tool box" safety meetings, ensuring inclusivity for non-English speakers by providing materials in their language. Attend these meetings to ensure they are meaningful and review safety reports.
  • Ensure all employees are provided with and use proper protective equipment and tools for their tasks.
