The Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) – Level 1 will oversee safety program initiatives at CMI’s customer site in Wilmington, NC, in accordance with EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual.

Key Job Functions
  1. Oversee and implement the Accident Prevention Plan
  2. Prepare and enforce the client safety program
  3. Conduct daily personnel and equipment inspections
  4. Lead safety orientations and meetings at the jobsite
  5. Investigate mishaps
  6. Maintain safety reference materials at the site
  7. Participate in pre-construction, pre-work, and inspection meetings
  8. Perform other safety-related duties as required by the contract
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • At least 5 years of safety experience within the past 10 years, managing or implementing a Safety and Occupational Health program on similar projects
  • Current OSHA 30-hour general industry or construction safety training
  • 24 hours of formal safety and occupational health training in the past 5 years
  • Proficiency in English to perform job functions and emergency procedures
