Job Description

The Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) – Level 1 shall have full oversight of the safety program initiatives at CMI’s customer site in Wilmington, NC.

Key Job Functions

  • Oversight and implementation of the Accident Prevention Plan
  • Prepare and enforce the client safety program
  • Conduct personnel and equipment inspections daily
  • Conduct safety orientations and meetings with personnel at the jobsite
  • Conduct mishap investigations
  • Maintain applicable safety reference material at the jobsite
  • Attend pre-construction conference, pre- work meetings, and three phase inspection meetings
  • Other safety related duties as required by the contract

Qualifications:
Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • At least (5) five years of cumulative safety experience within the past 10 years, managing or implementing a SOH program on a project of similar type, size and complexity as CMI’s customer project.
  • Current OSHA 30-hour general industry or construction safety training
  • 24 hours of documented formal classroom or online Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) -related training within the past 5 years
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English to effectively perform these job functions and comply with installation emergency procedures
