Job summary

Kent Companies is seeking a Safety Coordinator to promote and sustain an Incident-Free Environment across projects. You will collaborate with Operations Managers and Superintendents to implement safety programs and address injuries, hazards, and near misses.

You will lead safety events, conduct investigations, implement toolbox talks, inspections, and ensure training and PPE compliance to support a strong on-site safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health, or 3–5 years of relevant construction safety experience (concrete industry preferred).
• Certifications: OSHA 510, OSHA 30, CSMC, or Construction Safety Site Technician Certification (or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without corporate sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update safety rules and SOPs; communicate changes to field and safety team.
• Lead and participate in safety events, stand-downs, and training sessions.
• Conduct accident, injury, and near-miss investigations with field personnel.
• Implement Toolbox Talks and develop talks based on incidents.
• Perform and document site inspections/audits with reports to project teams and safety manager.
• Assist in Return-to-Work Program and drug screening compliance.
• Execute PPE program; ensure training completion and retraining scheduling.
• Develop, review, and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans with project teams.
• Serve as a resource for field teams including superintendents, foremen, and crew leaders.
