Job summary

Kent Companies in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Safety Coordinator to promote a culture of Incident Free Environment across our construction projects. You will coordinate safety programs, lead toolbox talks, inspect sites, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Ideal candidates have a safety degree or significant construction safety experience, relevant certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in environmental safety & health or 3–5 years of safety experience in construction.
• OSHA 500/510 or CSMC or Construction Safety Site Technician Certification or equivalent safety certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update safety rules and SOPs; convey changes to field and safety team.
• Lead safety events, stand-downs, and trainings; participate in safety meetings.
• Review investigations; verify underlying hazards addressed.
• Implement Toolbox Talks program and create custom talks.
• Perform job site inspections; document hazards and abatement.
• Coordinate workers' compensation/auto claims on sites.
• Investigate injuries and incidents.
• Oversee post-accident drug screening.
• Implement Return-to-Work Program.
• Submit reports to safety manager and workers’ compensation specialist.
• Enforce Site Specific Safety Plans.
• Hold job site safety briefings and coordinate with field safety officers.

Education

Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in environmental safety & health, or 3-5 years of relevant construction industry safety experience; concrete industry experience preferred

OSHA 500, 510, CSMC, or Construction Safety Site Technician Certification, or equivalent safety certification

Valid driver’s license

Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).

Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving.

Ability to pass drug screening.

Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
