Site Reliability Engineer

London Stock Exchange Group, St Louis, United States

Job Description Summary

The Site Reliability Engineer (Senior SRE) will assist with the ongoing maintenance and support of a hosted application platform, lead projects related to the application environment, and interface with internal and external customers to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues. The SRE is also responsible for supporting new project build-outs, collaborating with development and QA departments, and performing other application administration tasks.

Work Experience/Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Follow strict change control policies to meet organizational and client requirements.
  2. Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot issues for internal and external end-users.
  3. Manage critical incidents and problems with appropriate urgency.
  4. Participate in out-of-hours maintenance windows as needed to ensure high availability.
  5. Communicate effectively with Design Engineering, Client Support, Management, and Software Development teams.
  6. Document policies and procedures as they are defined and updated.
  7. Set up and administer applications.
  8. Be accountable for resolving outages through workarounds or permanent fixes.
  9. Maintain and update administration records, technical diagrams, and post-incident reviews.
  10. Work closely with Problem Management to identify recurring incidents and develop long-term solutions.
  11. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  12. Provide 24x7 on-call support within a team rotation.
Required Skills
  • 5-8 years of experience in Application Support.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Azure Cloud infrastructure services.
  • Experience building and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Linux and Windows system administration skills.
  • Experience in Application support and incident recovery.
  • Monitoring and alerting using Datadog.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
  • Scripting skills in Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
Good to Have Skills
  • Kubernetes experience.
  • Support and administration of Java or .NET applications.
  • Programming skills in Java, C#, or .NET.
Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
