About The Role

Our team enhances the reliability of Confluent Cloud by developing tools to improve system scalability and operational efficiency. We collaborate across engineering teams to reduce manual processes, operational toil, and system downtime, ensuring high availability and durability of critical infrastructure.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain tools that improve the scalability and reliability of Confluent Cloud
• Collaborate across teams to address engineering challenges
• Drive initiatives to reduce manual intervention and operational risks
• Partner with other engineering teams to promote high availability and efficient management of services

What You Will Bring

• 2+ years of relevant experience
• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
• Experience with large-scale systems operation
• Understanding of systems operations (disk, network, OS)
• Self-motivated with effective teamwork skills
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or similar languages
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Preferred Skills

• Creating tools to improve system performance and reduce manual work
• Kubernetes experience
• Terraform or similar configuration management experience
