Site Reliability Engineer - Quant Trading

Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

Are you an engineer with a passion for performance, scale, and optimization in a live production environment?

This role sits within a core trading systems team, supporting and evolving the infrastructure that underpins high-performance trading strategies. You'll work closely with both traders and developers across various trading desks, helping to drive forward improvements in systems.

Prior experience in a trading environment isn't a necessity (although it would be a plus), so this is an amazing opportunity to get exposed to some of the most advanced systems in the world, and work alongside extremely talented engineers in a highly collaborative team!

What you’ll do:

• Provide day-to-day support and continuous improvement of core trading systems
• Partner with traders and dev teams to scale, deploy, and fine-tune trading software
• Focus on performance analysis, monitoring, and observability
• Contribute to reliability and performance in a low-latency environment

Ideal background:

• 5–10 years' experience in infrastructure-heavy or systems-focused roles
• In depth practical experience with managing On-Premises environments
• Strong Python scripting and Linux expertise
• Experience with Kubernetes containerisation
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ideally with a passion for tech tinkering
• Knowledge of networks and data performance is highly beneficial

Location

Chicago (on site, with flexibility available)

Up to $225,000 base salary (could be flexible)
