Job summary

Leidos, a leader in digital solutions, seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to build and operate complex compute platforms. You’ll own Linux infrastructure, emphasize declarative systems with Nix/NixOS, and drive reproducible deployment workflows.

You’ll work across networking, storage, ML/AI infra, and cloud deployment, delivering resilient, observable systems. You’ll join a team that values learning, collaboration, and dependable performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent skills).
Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Linux systems across networks, storage, and filesystems.
Experience with Nix and/or NixOS in production, lab, or significant personal environments.
2+ years of scripting in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
Ability to debug complex systems across multiple layers of the stack.

Responsibilities

Own the reliability and operation of critical compute and data platforms.
Design, deploy, and maintain Linux infrastructure, including NixOS-based systems.
Build reproducible system configurations and deployment workflows using Nix and IaC.
Develop reusable NixOS modules, packages, flakes, and system configurations.
Improve platform resilience and maintainability; reduce configuration drift.
Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities.
Diagnose failures across Linux, networking, storage, containers, and distributed systems.
Automate repetitive tasks and ensure system recoverability.
Define operational standards, deployment practices, upgrade strategies, and disaster recovery.
