Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a small, capable team building reliable systems across compute, storage, and networks. You’ll work on Linux infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on NixOS-based servers, reproducible environments, and deployment automation.

Ideal candidates will have experience in Linux administration, networking, storage, and scripting, with 2+ years in Python/Go/Bash. Flexible hours and remote work options are available as part of a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent skills.
• 2+ years Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Linux networking, storage, and file systems.
• Experience with Nix and/or NixOS in production or significant personal environments.
• 2+ years scripting in Python/Go/Bash.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and operation of critical compute and data platforms.
• Design, deploy, and maintain Linux infrastructure, including NixOS-based systems.
• Build reproducible system configurations and deployment workflows using Nix and IaC.
• Develop reusable NixOS modules, packages, flakes, and system configurations.
• Improve platform resilience, fault tolerance, recoverability, and maintainability.
• Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities to understand system behavior.
