Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II (SRE) to ensure reliability, performance, and availability of our platforms. The role collaborates with Development, DevSecOps, and Engineering teams to monitor systems, manage incidents, and automate operations.

The SRE II will support Kubernetes environments, CI/CD pipelines, and production reliability while contributing to incident response, post-mortems, and runbooks. Remote work from US-based candidates is welcomed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on SRE, DevOps, or production support experience.
• Experience with incident triage, troubleshooting, and escalation processes.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog or similar monitoring tools.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes and Docker environments.
• Familiarity with SQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-transaction production environments.
• Comfortable working as part of a global follow-the-sun support model.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation scripts and tools using C#, Java, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Participate in weekday production support coverage and on-call rotations.
• Maintain incident documentation, post-mortem reports, and runbooks.
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST requirements.

About the Role

This role works closely with Development, DevSecOps, and Engineering teams to monitor systems, manage incidents, support Kubernetes environments, and drive automation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor system health, uptime, and performance using Datadog
• Respond to production alerts and perform incident triage and troubleshooting
• Conduct root cause analysis and escalation issues when needed
• Troubleshoot and support Kubernetes workloads and containerized environments
• Work with Development, Operations, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues
• Develop automation scripts and tools using C#, Java, Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Support CI/CD pipeline reliability and deployment monitoring
• Participate in weekday production support coverage and on-call rotations
• Maintain incident documentation, post-mortem reports, and operational runbooks
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST requirements.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Helm Charts and deployment automation
• ITIL and Agile methodology exposure
• Strong scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, or C#
• Experience in FinTech, Healthcare, or regulated environments
