Job summary

Thales seeks a Site Reliability Engineer in Austin (Hybrid, 3 days on-site) to ensure high service levels for a scalable cloud-based telecom solution. You will own SRE practices, define SLOs/SLIs, and lead incident response and postmortems with a focus on automation and reliability.

You will collaborate with Cloud Security, DevOps, and product teams to improve observability, capacity planning, and performance.

Qualifications

• Engineer or equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in SRE/DevOps or related areas.
• Experience with Java, cloud platforms, containers, microservices, CI/CD and automation.
• GCP/AWS familiarity and NoSQL databases are a plus.
• GCP Cloud Architect certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible and Kubernetes.
• Define and monitor SLOs/SLIs and manage error budgets.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and troubleshoot production issues.
• Perform capacity planning and performance analyses for growth.
• Implement monitoring with Datadog and drive blameless postmortems.
