Job Title: L2 Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (Overnight - US Time Zone)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a thoughtful and experienced L2 Site Reliability Engineer to join our globally distributed team. This role will provide critical overnight coverage from the US to support our India-based SREs and Engineering teams, enabling better cross-time-zone collaboration, faster issue resolution, and continuous system reliability.

In this role, you'll act as both a hands-on SRE and a mentor, helping junior SREs grow their troubleshooting skills, improve our team’s operational excellence, and drive forward incident and problem management efforts. You'll also partner closely with India-based product and engineering teams to enhance observability, reduce incidents, and improve system resilience. Additionally, you’ll support database-related activities during the overnight shift, including running vetted scripts and assisting with SQL debugging to unblock engineering teams and ensure system stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary overnight SRE point of contact, supporting active issues and assisting junior SREs in triaging and remediating production incidents.
• Collaborate with India-based SRE and Engineering teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure or application-related issues, with a focus on long-term fixes and patterns.
• Support database-related activities during overnight hours, such as executing approved scripts, assisting with SQL debugging, and providing insight into database performance or issues.
• Mentor and train L1 SREs, helping them grow in areas such as systems thinking, debugging, and tooling usage.
• Use tools like Datadog, Kubernetes, and CI/CD systems to monitor, support, and improve service health.
• Contribute to incident postmortems, ensuring learnings are documented and improvements are implemented.
• Support and enhance automation, self-healing, and runbook maturity to reduce manual toil.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical services if needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3–5 years of hands-on SRE, DevOps, or Production Support experience.
• Strong familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language (C#, Java, Python, Go, or similar).
• Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL), including running vetted scripts, debugging queries, and identifying performance issues.
• Experience supporting Linux-based systems, cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP), and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness and ability to work overnight US hours to support teams in India.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in the healthcare or fintech industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
