Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid) to support the internal cloud platform across inception, design, deployment, operation, and ongoing support. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable infrastructure and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities include monitoring live services, rapid troubleshooting across the stack, and driving standardization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Unix/Linux server platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform, Shell scripting, Java, Python, and Ansible development.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex issues across hardware, software, app, and network layers.
• Deep-dive into reliability concerns and implement sustainable fixes.

Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid)

Alternate Location: Charlotte, NC

Role Overview

This organization is seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer II to support the internal cloud platform. The successful candidate will focus on the entire lifecycle of cloud services, spanning inception, design, deployment, operation, and ongoing support. This hybrid role requires onsite collaboration three days per week to ensure system health and drive automation initiatives. Partnering with cross-functional engineering and operations teams will be essential to establish robust, scalable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the entire stack, including hardware, software, application, and network layers.
• Perform deep dives into systemic and latent reliability concerns to produce and implement sustainable fixes.
• Drive standardization efforts across multiple disciplines and services in collaboration with embedded engineering teams.
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve automation for cloud-based services.
• Scope and design automation frameworks for deployment, management, and system visibility.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with Unix or Linux server platforms.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Terraform, Shell scripting, Java, Python, and Ansible development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of designing and managing the full lifecycle of internal cloud services.
• Experience partnering with diverse engineering teams to drive automation and infrastructure standardization.
