Job summary

The Jamar Company is seeking a Site Quality Manager to lead on-site quality initiatives for complex national projects. You will partner with project teams, clients, subcontractors and regulators to drive quality performance and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and contract requirements.

You will oversee inspections, test plans, and documentation, while mentoring inspectors and coordinating with EPCM teams. Relocation to project sites nationwide is required for multi-year assignments, with

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Construction Management, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• 3+ years leading quality programs on government or highly regulated projects.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and QA/QC best practices.
• Experience with self-performed and subcontracted construction work.
• Ability to interpret contract documents and drawings.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and relocate across project sites.
• AWS CWI certification or ability to obtain is required or preferred.

At a Glance

Employment Type: Full‑Time, Exempt

Location: On‑site at project in Idaho Falls, ID

Travel: Frequent local, regional, and national travel will be required, up to 75%, based on project and business needs. Initial travel to the company’s headquarters in Duluth, MN will also be required to support onboarding and provide an understanding of company operations, processes, and procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and ISO 9001 principles.
• Oversee quality compliance for self‑performed and subcontracted construction activities.
• Serve as the primary onsite resource and point of contact for all quality‑related matters.
• Direct field inspection activities and ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory standards.
• Review and approve inspection and test plans, quality documentation, submittals, and related project records.
• Partner with project teams, subcontractors, testing agencies, clients, and EPCM representatives to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
• Lead investigations of nonconforming work and oversee implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare for and participate in audits, quality reviews, inspections, and project acceptance activities.
• Track quality performance metrics, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce deficiencies and rework.
• Coach and mentor inspectors and project personnel while promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and workmanship excellence.

What You’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field within industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
• 3+ years of experience leading quality programs on government, federal, military, healthcare, or other highly regulated and mission‑critical projects.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality assurance/quality control best practices.
• Experience overseeing quality programs for both self‑performed and subcontracted construction work.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Experience with quality audits, inspections, testing programs, nonconformance management, and corrective action processes.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and EPCM representatives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to Department of Energy, federal, and military facilities, including successful completion of required background screenings.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with ability to travel to or work from local, regional, and national project sites.
