Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Operational Excellence Site Lead to drive the site’s OpEx strategy, governance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. You will lead the OpEx team, build capability, and embed disciplined routines for accountability and sustainable change.

You will coach teams in Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem solving while applying AI-enabled and digital solutions to boost productivity and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business or related discipline and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required; Master Black Belt preferred.
• Eight years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing with relevant managerial experience and delivery of strategic projects.
• Two years’ direct people management experience at management level, preferably leading an OpEx, digital, PMO, or project management function.
• Strong capability in Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, structured problem solving, data analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, mistake-proofing, standard work, visual management, and benefits tracking.
• Proven experience identifying and applying AI and digital tools to operational challenges with measurable impact on performance and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership on operational excellence strategy, capability building, governance, and change execution.
• Lead the OpEx team, including prioritisation, capability building, performance management, stakeholder engagement, and delivering business results.
• Lead the site continuous improvement strategy and roadmap aligned with priorities and resources.
• Coach and develop teams in Lean, Six Sigma, problem solving, and daily management systems.
• Identify, prioritise and deliver high-impact initiatives reducing waste and increasing reliability and compliance.
• Identify and deploy AI-enabled and digital solutions to improve decision-making and productivity.
• Partner with site functions, regulatory agencies, vendors, and suppliers to support objectives.
• Establish and govern performance metrics, budgets, improvement portfolios, and accountability routines.
• Ensure controls so activities operate in compliance with quality, regulatory, safety, and AbbVie policy requirements.
• Balance strategic and operational decisions to support the business impact and sustainable change.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and open communication across the site.
