Job summary

Pathways Inc. in Kentucky seeks a Youth Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented services and mentorship to youth and young adults in the TAYLRD program, using lived experience to support recovery goals and build trusting relationships with participants.

• Certification as Youth Peer Support Specialist (YPSS) or ability to obtain certification with agency support.
• Must meet YPSS credential age requirement of 35 years old or younger.
• At least one year of managerial or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Peer Support Services through sharing lived experience to support recovery and advocate for individuals in recovery.
• Assist consumers with skill-building and resource connection.
• Facilitate community relationships and support systems; lead peer support sessions and mentoring.
• Assure daily operations of the TAYLRD Drop-In Center during operational hours; supervise assigned staff.
• Contribute to outreach activities and collaboration with community partners and systems of care.

$34,500 - $38,500

Certification/License Requirements

• Certification as a Youth Peer Support Specialist (YPSS) through a state-approved training program, or ability to obtain certification prior to hire with agency support
• Must meet YPSS credential age requirement of 35 years old or younger

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience Requirements

• At least one (1) year of managerial or supervisory experience required
• Qualifying lived experience consistent with Peer Support Specialist regulations
• Experience with substance use disorder (SUD) and/or mental health (MH) recovery populations preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively within a team environment

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide Peer Support Services through:
  • Sharing lived experience to support and encourage recovery
  • Advocating for individuals in recovery
  • Assisting consumers with skill-building and resource connection
  • Facilitating community relationships and support systems
  • Leading peer support sessions and mentoring assigned consumers
  • Assisting consumers in developing and achieving recovery goals
• Manage daily operations of the TAYLRD Drop-In Center during operational hours
• Provide direct supervision and support to assigned TAYLRD staff
• Conduct outreach activities and collaborate with community partners and systems of care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and state requirements
• Adhere to all Pathways policies and procedures and applicable regulations, including 908 KAR 2:220
• Perform all other duties as assigned
