Job summary

Lithium Americas seeks a Site Manager for the Thacker Pass site to lead commissioning, startup, and ongoing operations. You will oversee mining, processing, maintenance, and training, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and alignment with site objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years' progressive operations experience in chemical/mineral/hydrometallurgical industries.
• Experience coordinating plant operations and implementing process improvements.
• Strong understanding of chemical process engineering principles and unit operations.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to influence teams.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Operations Director in safety-focused oversight of commissioning, startup, ramp-up, and routine operations.
• Oversee daily site commissioning and operations across all functions to ensure safe, compliant performance.
• Lead site Training function to align with commissioning, startup, and workforce development needs.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, EHS, and Technical Services to align site activities.
• Monitor site-wide performance metrics, identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in planning and scheduling to optimize resource use across mine and processing operations.
• Support regulatory inspections and ensure employees are trained for assigned responsibilities.
• Foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
