Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a seasoned on-site leader to own the Autonomous Haulage Solution (AHS) deployment and ongoing success at a mining site in the Northern Nevada region. You will coordinate Caterpillar product groups, dealers, and customer stakeholders to ensure optimal performance and safety.

In this role, you will lead Autonomous Application Specialists, Project Engineers, and On-Board Specialists, while building executive-level relationships with mine leadership and site decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in autonomous mine operations, mining technology, and Command for Hauling environments.
• Background in field support, mine operations, Autonomous Run Teams, or site-based technology roles.
• Proven ability to lead through influence and align multiple teams without direct authority.
• Consultative mindset with strong commitment to customer success and operational excellence.
• Ability to navigate sensitive issues, influence stakeholders, and drive action across organizations.
• College or university degree or equivalent experience; mining engineering degrees are highly desired.

Job description

• Represent Caterpillar on site and lead the success of the Autonomous Haulage Solution (AHS)
• Coordinate Caterpillar product groups, dealers, and customer stakeholders
• Lead and support Autonomous Application Specialists, Project Engineers, and Autonomous On-Board Specialists
• Partner with the customer’s Command team
• Drive technology availability, fleet utilization, production, uptime, cost per ton, and safety metrics
• Influence Caterpillar product groups and internal partners to accelerate corrective actions
• Minimize operational impact from product or production issues
• Partner with the Mining Region Director, Site Performance Manager, Commercial Manager, and Sales teams on commercial growth opportunities
• Advise customer and dealer operations and maintenance leaders on Command for Hauling and autonomous operations best practices
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with mine leadership, business decision-makers, and subject-matter experts
• Serve as the Responsible Person for on-site Caterpillar personnel
• Ensure safe operation of the entire AHS system
• Champion Caterpillar’s Zero Harm commitment and embed safety into site operations

Requirements

• Extensive experience in autonomous mine operations, mining technology, and Command for Hauling environments
• Background in field support, mine operations, Autonomous Run Teams, or site-based technology roles
• Proven ability to lead through influence and align multiple teams without direct authority
• Consultative mindset with strong commitment to customer success and operational excellence
• Ability to navigate sensitive issues, influence stakeholders, and drive action across organizations
• Ability to manage complex technical and operational challenges requiring analysis, prioritization, and follow-through
• College or university degree or equivalent experience
• Mining and mechanical engineering degrees highly desired
• Must be available for a Monday–Thursday roster
• Must be able to work at the mine site in Northern Nevada
• Sponsorship is not available
• Successful completion of a drug screen required
