Job summary

Eliason Corporation is seeking a Senior Plant Leader to launch and scale a new manufacturing facility in Frederick, MD. You will drive production readiness, staffing, SOP development, and cross‑functional collaboration to meet customer commitments with safety and quality at the forefront.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing leadership, a strong safety mindset, and experience with Lean practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of manufacturing leadership experience, safety, quality, delivery, and cost responsibility.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to policies.
  • Able to synthesize complex data and design workflows.
  • Effective verbal and presentation skills at all organization levels.
  • Lean Enterprise, 5S, PDCA, and root cause analysis knowledge.
  • Experience in fabrication, welding, or heavy manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage site KPIs including safety, quality, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, productivity, and financial performance.
  • Lead facility activities including equipment installation, commissioning, production readiness reviews, staffing ramp-up, SOP development, and launch-to-production execution.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for key customers, supporting audits, corrective actions, and delivery recovery plans.
  • Foster a positive, engaged culture with accountability and visible leadership.
  • Develop leadership capability through coaching, succession planning, training, and performance development.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing plans to meet demand, quality, and business objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules with sales and operations.
  • Expand production capacity to meet shipping goals and manage process improvements.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance and PPE usage.
  • Manage budgets and coordinate with HR on employee relations.

Initially, this role will be instrumental in launching, scaling, and leading a new manufacturing facility while building a high‑performing team and culture capable of supporting long‑term growth. This position is responsible for leading aspects of manufacturing operations including production, quality, logistics, maintenance, and overall plant performance while driving operational excellence through continuous improvement of processes, systems, and teams. It ensures customer commitments are met through on‑time delivery, high-quality standards, and cost efficiency while fostering a safe, accountable, and high‑performing work environment and enforcing ISO aligned standards. Success requires strong leadership, critical thinking, and the ability to influence and engage teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Own and manage site KPIs including safety, quality, on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, productivity, and financial performance.
  • Lead facility activities including equipment installation, commissioning, production readiness reviews, staffing ramp‑up, operating procedure development, and launch‑to‑production execution.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for key customers, supporting plant tours, customer audits, corrective actions, delivery recovery plans, and relationship management.
  • Foster a positive, engaged, high‑accountability culture through consistent communication, employee involvement, and leadership visibility.
  • Develop leadership capability within the organization through coaching, succession planning, training, and performance development programs.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing plans to meet customer demand, quality expectations, and business objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams to align operational priorities with company strategy.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules in collaboration with sales and operations teams.
  • Develop and expand production capacity to meet monthly and annual shipping goals.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks or delays, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
  • Lead implementation of visual management, standard work, layered process audits, 5S, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and material flow to ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate production and operational performance reports.
  • Control operational costs and manage budgets to achieve financial targets.
  • Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters, including performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Lead safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure proper use of PPE, equipment, and procedures.
  • Coordinate facility improvement projects and manage contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure successful completion of site objectives.
  • Lead capital projects, facility expansions, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational growth and efficiency.
  • Monitor, test, and optimize plant processes to improve performance and reliability.
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and employee‑related information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements
  • Comply with all OSHA and company safety policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
  • Attend scheduled safety training.
  • Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed safety goals and plans.
  • Recommend improved safety practices.
  • Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to and ensure lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Seven or more years of manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Or equivalent of combined experience and education.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs workflows and procedures.
  • Able to develop and present ideas in verbal meetings and presentation format to all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding in Lean Enterprise, 5S, PDCA, root cause analysis.
  • Preferred experience in fabrication, welding, robotic welding, laser cutting, crane operation and heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks over a 10–12‑hour period.
  • The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toe shoes, when on the production floor.
  • Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
  • The ability to lift to 25 lbs. is required.
