Job summary

Covestro in Baytown, TX is seeking a senior Learning & Development leader to establish and govern site-wide training programs. You will define the strategy for AI-enabled learning, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a future-ready workforce across operations, maintenance, and labs.

You will lead a high-performing team, coordinate with cross-functional partners, and drive regional training expansion to position Baytown as a North American technical training hub.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree requirement matching years: AS with 20+ yrs, BS with 15+ yrs, or MS with 10+ yrs.
• 10+ years in industrial manufacturing with people management experience.
• TWIC eligibility within a reasonable timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage site-wide technical training requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and coordinate new hire and ongoing training programs across all levels.
• Lead certification programs for operations, maintenance, and labs with documented skills.
• Maintain Learning Management System records and site governance.
• Assess safety incidents to identify training-driven root causes.
• Oversee Train-the-Trainer program, qualification, and recertification cycles.
• Define strategy for AI-enabled learning technologies and workforce readiness.
• Align local qualification strategy with global standards as Local Qualification Manager.
• Support training for newly acquired sites to meet Covestro standards.
• Build Baytown as NA technical training hub and cross-site competency.
