Role Summary
  • Provide jobsite construction and technical leadership for large projects
  • Work on critical infrastructure equipment in data centers, including Vertiv‑manufactured equipment
  • Lead a multidisciplinary on‑site team of project leaders, installers, technicians, customer engineers, and subcontractors
  • Represent Vertiv at daily customer meetings, communicate technical requirements, and coordinate activities with other parties on‑site
  • Lead and support start‑up and site testing activities for assigned projects
Technical Responsibilities
  • Keep current on Vertiv equipment start‑up and commissioning processes, procedures, and tools
  • Keep current on safety bulletins, field change notices, and service tips
Safety Responsibilities
  • Lead daily toolbox talks, pre‑job safety walk and inspection, and drive any necessary corrective/preventive actions
  • Ensure adherence to all site and Vertiv safety policies
  • Operate safely in accordance with published guidelines and wear appropriate PPE
  • Follow the 14‑hour rule and report accidents or injuries within 24 hours
  • Model safety behavior and use STOP WORK authority as needed
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Vertiv warranty process in partnership with the Project Manager
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting: timecards, expense reports, mileage, SR/task closure, and other required forms
  • Support the Project Manager with technical data to maintain project systems
  • Maintain company property in accordance with company policies (credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, smartphone, etc.)
Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external customers
  • Align daily customer expectations with Vertiv activity and clarify any misalignment
  • Maintain customer satisfaction rates per company guidelines
Personal Performance Expectations
  • Make decisions guided by Safety, Quality, Timeliness, Cost, and Productivity
  • Demonstrate timely technical and commercial decision‑making under pressure
  • Adhere to productivity utilization rates, dress code, and safety regulations
  • Follow startup and escalation processes and Vertiv behaviors
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Handle stressful situations and provide a calming effect to customers
  • Exhibit diplomacy in interactions with internal and external customers
Qualifications
  • Experience: one or more of the following
    • ASEET or ASMET preferred
    • Equivalent industry experience, specifically leading and participating in start‑up and commissioning of power and/or HVAC equipment
    • Six years military experience in a related field
    • Minimum 2 years of industrial construction management experience

  • Product certifications up to date and consistent performance rating of meets all aspects of job requirement
  • Technical skills
    • Immediate site evaluation: environmental temperature and general operating conditions
    • Summarize and report all work‑related tasks performed
    • Recommend and direct customer solutions based on evaluation
    • Lead technical activities of other technicians and provide on‑site customer consultation
    • Expert in COHE and site acceptance testing procedures
    • Computer skills: advanced word processing, report generation, spreadsheet processing, email, test equipment data analysis, familiarity with computer networks
    • Mechanical aptitude
Working Conditions
  • Assignments are typically long‑term, from 4 weeks to 12+ months based on the project scope
  • If the project is not near the Site Leader’s residence, travel includes 3 consecutive weeks on site followed by 1 week in home office with a minimum of 40 hours of billable and administrative work
  • Jobsites include industrial new construction or retrofit construction
  • Flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Deployable in emergencies
Physical Requirements

The associate must stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell. Must be able to sit, climb, or balance. Vision: close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus. Must consistently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
