Develop and manage the overall strategy for delivering programs and services related to After School Child Care programs. Ensure staff excellence in the delivery of high-quality and safe programs. Manage all aspects of childcare programs to meet state licensing and Quality Rating System standards. Create a team of highly qualified leaders prioritizing the care of children and family education. Serve as an overall leader for the YMCA and enhance the YMCA Mission.

What is needed for this job:
- Present documentation of an achieved degree from an accredited college or university in education or human services related field as defined by state licensing regulations.
- Verify a minimum of 2 years (2500 hours) of childcare experience.
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Read and be accountable for YMCA Policies, State Licensing Body (PA-DHS) regulations, and Quality Rating System standards.
- Supervise by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting to ensure the safety of each child in your direct care group at all times. Adhere to small group/ratio established by the state licensing agency. Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Communicate effectively and timely with parents/guardians regarding children's program experience and progress. Maintain confidentiality, sensitivity, and patience always.
- Provide quality adult/child interactions through engagement, positive and encouraging feedback, and open-ended questions. Maintain age-appropriate verbal interaction guidelines, exercising patience.
- Maintain knowledge of GPY Association policies, risk management, safety practices, and applicable laws.
- Know the YMCA mission and be able to articulate it.
- Ensure centers are maintained with quality learning materials, organized in labeled containers associated with appropriate Learning Centers.
- Attend team-planning meetings monthly or as needed.
- Attend and renew all necessary training as per your training plan, including at least 6 hours of childcare-related training annually.
- Control and maintain environments that build children’s self-esteem, using positive reinforcement for redirection.
- Conduct and record weekly child observations and document any behavior concerns or developmental issues requiring early intervention.
- Plan and implement daily child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning experiences, adapting the program to meet individual needs.
- Maintain program operations in accordance with YMCA policies, state licensing regulations, and quality standards, preparing for annual audits.
- Maintain child and staff records per licensing regulations, ensuring confidentiality.
- Accurately record and report daily attendance, emergency contacts, trip logs, and allergies.
- Support and promote Y-sponsored events.
- Lead by example with professionalism and accountability.
- Supervise staff, manage schedules, and ensure proper staffing ratios. Conduct staff observations and evaluations annually.
- Support the District Team Leader as needed to ensure quality program implementation and uphold the YMCA's mission.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians through newsletters, updates, and announcements.
- Meet deadlines for lesson plans, reports, and supply requests. Manage time and resources efficiently.
- Maintain enrollment levels as a measure of success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
