Mortenson Construction is seeking a Laborer Foreman to coordinate crews, manage materials, and ensure safe, efficient field operations in our Illinois projects. This role will lead laborer teams, interpret plans, and drive on-site productivity with a focus on quality and schedule adherence.

The Laborer Foreman will direct laborers and helpers, monitor safety compliance, and collaborate with craft leads to meet project milestones while maintaining open communication with stakeholders and aligning

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years related experience preferred.
• Must possess union specific training.
• Current driver's license.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; ability to work with machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel.
• Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Maintain time records.
• Make cost estimates for contracts.
• Provide work direction to laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers.
• Lead team members by example and provide coaching and feedback.
