Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Project Engineer for Site Infrastructure to define, evaluate and recommend critical site infrastructure enabling Caterpillar Technology solutions.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams on networks, GNSS, compute platforms, cloud connectivity, and security to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure at customer sites. The role requires a degree in engineering/IT and experience designing large‑scale infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience designing large-scale infrastructure architectures.
• Knowledge of networking, compute, storage, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with site infrastructure for construction technology or mining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define infrastructure requirements and evaluate solutions to improve capability, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Participate in architecture reviews, readiness assessments, validation and deployment activities.
• Consult on integration issues involving site communications, GNSS, data center, cloud, and autonomy infrastructure.
• Develop reference architectures and standards for networking, positioning, compute platforms, remote connectivity, and site operations centers.
