Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Site Infrastructure Engineering Specialist to shape site infrastructure across construction and mining projects. You will define requirements, evaluate solutions, and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure.

Key focus areas include networking, GNSS, data centers, cloud connectivity, and autonomy infrastructure. The role requires strong architecture experience and leadership in customer-focused deployments at a global scale.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Must be able to design large-scale infrastructure architectures and understand networking, compute, storage, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to customers, leadership, architects, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with platform and/or commercial teams to define customer needs.
• Define infrastructure requirements, research solutions, test performance, and create final recommendations for capability, reliability, scalability and security.
• Participate in architecture reviews, site readiness assessments, infrastructure validation, and deployment certification for customer sites.
• Consult on integration issues involving site communications, GNSS, data center, cloud, and autonomy infrastructure with customer environments.
• Develop reference architectures and standards for networking, compute platforms, remote connectivity, and site operations centers.
