Job summary

Nexus Search are exclusively partnered with a global Food Ingredients manufacturer to confidentially search for a Site Head of EHS / Site EHS Manager for their flagship US site in the Midwest. This is a senior, high-impact role sitting on the site leadership team with responsibility for HSE across 400+ employees.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and owns the health, safety, environmental and process safety strategy, leading a small EHS team and engaging regulators to ensure compliance,

Qualifications

• Senior HSE leadership experience in heavy manufacturing or process industries.
• Proven ability to drive cultural change and develop EHS teams.
• Experience coordinating with OSHA, EPA and state regulators.
• Experience with unionized workforces on the plant floor.
• Process safety experience is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Owns health, safety, environmental and process safety strategy for the site.
• Leads and develops a small team of HSE professionals.
• Serves as primary contact with regulators, overseeing inspections and permitting.
• Drives incident management, risk reduction and continuous improvement.
• Collaborates with operations, engineering and maintenance to embed HSE in daily work.

Nexus Search are exclusively partnered with a global Food Ingredients manufacturer to confidentially search for a Site Head of EHS / Site EHS Manager for one of their flagship US sites in the Midwest.

This is a senior, high-impact role. You’ll sit on the site leadership team with responsibility for HSE across a site of 400+ employees. The business sees this as a critical hire, and they want a leader who will set the standard and build a strong safety culture throughout the site.

The role

• Reports to the Plant Manager as a member of the site leadership team
• Full ownership of health, safety, environmental and process safety strategy for the site
• Leads, coaches and develops a small team of HSE professionals
• Main point of contact with regulators, overseeing compliance, inspections and permitting
• Drives incident management, risk reduction and continuous improvement
• Works with operations, engineering and maintenance to make HSE part of everyday working

The person

• Proven HSE leadership in heavy manufacturing or process industries, such as chemicals, food and beverage, ingredients or pharma
• Strong people leader with a track record of driving cultural change and developing EHS teams
• Process safety experience is highly advantageous
• Confident working with OSHA, EPA and state regulators
• Credible at leadership level and on the plant floor, including with a unionized workforce
• Relevant degree; professional HSE certification is a plus

Compensation

• Base Salary from $150,000 - $170,000
• 20% STI Bonus
• Full relocation package & support, alongside a lump sum
• Relocation is required to near their Midwest site
