Job summary

Wicomico County Public Schools Facilities in Salisbury, Maryland, is seeking a Site and Grounds Worker III (Crew Leader). Immediate start, 40 hours/week, 12 months, 260 days.

You will supervise 3-4 staff, drive between sites, maintain equipment, plan work, and ensure safety and compliance with DOT and pesticide regulations. This full-time benefitted role requires a high school diploma or GED, CDL Class B, forklift course completion within 18 months, and strong grounds maintenance knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Must complete forklift course within 18 months of hire.
• Valid CDL Class B license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at various heights.
• Proficiency with basic work order records and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage 3-4 staff daily and ensure safety.
• Drive truck/trailer between school sites.
• Maintain trucks, trailers and equipment to meet DOT rules.
• Plan work requests, assign tasks, and maintain crew records.
• Report equipment and safety issues daily to supervisors.
• Perform grounds maintenance: mowing, trimming, edging.
• Prune shrubs/trees and maintain athletic fields.
• Operate tools such as saws, sprayers, and power washers.
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
