Job summary

Job Summary

Provides training mission activities by delivering Site Exploitation instruction in a manner that ensures effective understanding and application of skills taught. Develops, reviews, and refines lesson plans in accordance with the program. Evaluates and assesses student baseline understanding of tasks. Delivers instruction in classroom and scenario settings. Performs ongoing evaluation of student knowledge and skills and provide verbal feedback as well as written evaluations.




  • Reviews, refines, updates if necessary, and comment on lesson plans.

  • Writes personal lesson outlines in support of existing Programs of Instruction and lesson plans.

  • Designs and develops training materials in support of lesson plans, POI guidelines.

  • Develops realistic training scenarios to replicate real-world operations.

  • Plans, develops, and implements training courses in support of POI.

  • Performs transport, setup, tear-down, and reset of training equipment.

  • Develops and implements evaluation tools to assess participant learning.

  • Conducts performance assessments and provides constructive feedback for improvement to courses and training materials for enhanced learning outcomes.

  • Instructs in conducting Sensitive Site Exploitation (SSE) in support of isolated personnel recovery, detainee handling, and small unit tactics.

  • Teaches procedures for latent fingerprint collection, known print collection, and DNA handling/processing.

  • Trains in live-scan biometric collection, data processing, and integration with systems such as SOFEX, DODs Automated Biometric Identification System, DHIS IDENT, and DOJs Next Generation Identification (NGI) system.

  • Provides instruction in forensic photography for documentation purposes.

  • Maintains current skills and knowledge in the field of study.

  • Understands cell phone exploitation and document and media exploitation (CELLEX/DOMEX).



Minimum Qualifications


  • Positions under National Forensic Science Technology Center will require Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 5 years of experience in related field; OR nine (9) years of relevant training and/or military experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and/or military experience.
