Job summary

Hyson is seeking a Head of Engineering & Operations to unify Product/Application Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance & Facilities, and CI. This leader will drive operational performance, engineering execution, and a culture of disciplined improvement as a key member of the site leadership team.

The role requires 10+ years of blended engineering and manufacturing leadership, deep Lean/CI know-how, and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in engineering and/or manufacturing operations.
• Experience delivering across engineering and operations functions or strong functional depth with exposure to the other.
• Proven track record of driving measurable operational improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide unified leadership and full accountability for Engineering and Operations functions.
• Lead the Product and Application Engineering team across product lines.
• Oversee engineering support for customer applications and design execution.
• Drive design-for-manufacturability to connect engineering decisions to production efficiency and quality.
• Own quality outcomes at the engineering-manufacturing interface and minimize escapes and rework.
• Partner with Sales on technical proposals, customer escalations, and new product introductions.
• Set operating standards for safe, compliant, and consistent standard work on the production floor.
• Lead capacity planning and resource allocation to meet demand and minimize waste.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance and maximize equipment uptime.
• Champion capital planning for equipment and infrastructure and manage projects.
• Cultivate a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, and accountability.
• Lead a CI/Lean strategy driving problem-solving and waste elimination.
• Translate improvements into measurable operational and financial outcomes and report to GM.
